Ornithine is a non-essential amino acid, meaning it can be produced within the human body. Ornithine is not coded within DNA making it a non-proteinogenic amino acid. Ornithine benefits health by being an essential part of the Urea Cycle which disposes of metabolic wastes such as excess Nitrogen and Ammonia, a potent neurotoxin.
Most people who supplement with Ornithine combine it with Arginine for its muscle building effects.
